At Houghton Independents, we’re ready for something better. Based in Houghton Regis, we have 3 elected Independent Town Councillors already. We want to triple our numbers at the next Town Council election in May and have 9 candidates standing for The Town Council Election. At Central Beds Council we have 16 elected Independent Councillors already and have over 45 candidates standing for election county wide to Central Beds Council. Let's begin getting something better being delivered for the town. Let's begin geting something better being delivered for Central Beds.
The Houghton Independents help, support and enable people from all over the town to take action. Whether the need is what to do about disruptive neighbours/supporting activities for the children in school holidays/ helping Santa visit the ward, The Houghton Independents deliver for All.

Started by local people back in 2015, Houghton Independents have grown into a Community group. We emphasise transparency in everything we do, setting bold goals and pursuing a clear strategy that seeks to deliver an improvement for the town. We are constantly growing and adapting to the changes of Houghton Regis, and invite you to learn more about how you can too.

We Need Everyone
Imagine the town run by you....for you. That's what The Houghton Independents are. Our only interest is the town of Houghton Regis, at Town Council and Central Beds Council. The local voice from local people. Every Independent candidate that succeeds in being elected makes your voice stronger, until we have Independent councilors as the majority voice at The Town Council and Central Beds Council delivering for residents.
There are many ways to take action for the Houghton Independents. Right now, all we need is your vote. Every vote Counts and if you and everyone else votes Independent, the Independents will get the majority and deliver.
We are standing. We need you to vote. We can deliver.
Organising an Event
Every individual has the ability to motivate others and inspire true change. By talking to your neighbours or organising a get together, you become a crucial part of our group by making sure that we get heard and get people together.
Whether it's protecting the green spaces, celebrating the Coronation, or setting up a music group, or helping establish cycle ways, whatever it is you can shape where you live and what interests you.

Volunteering
Our work is never done, and we can use all the help we can get.
There are 2 elections coming up. Both are held on the same day. Thursday 4th May.
One election is to be a councillor at The Town Council.
If you are registered to vote and live on Parkside, you will have 4 votes. There are 4 Houghton Independent Candidates you can vote for.
If you are registered to vote and live on Tithe Farm, you will have 5 votes. There are 5 Houghton Independent candidates you can vote for.
The second election is to be a councillor at Central Beds Council. This election is for Houghton Regis East as it covers Tithe Farm and Parkside. If you are registered to vote you will have 3 votes. There are 3 Independent candidates you can vote for.
